Hi, Welcome to a little bit about me :-)My name is Carla and I will be (oh lordy!!) 53 this year... I'm a Cancer (Kreeft) and currently live in Veneta, Oregon (Veneta is about 12 miles West of Eugene). I LOVE it here :-))) I've been divorced now for just over a year after 30 years of marriage... a spouses midlife crisis sure turns your life up-side-down. It was scary to start all over again at 50, but it's amazing how we can face our worst fears and win. I definitely could not have done it without the support and encouragement of my 3 wonderful children! Janna (25), lives in Arcata, North California, and studies at Humboldt University... she started school again after travelling South America for a few months and doing a 190+ mile Coast to Coast hike in the UK. She got "the itch" again tho, and left on 01/14 to be a "Trekker" in Guatemala for 4 months. Thomas (24) is a Marine Reserve (4th Medical Bn - Miramar) After his deployment to Iraq he decided to live and study in San Diego, Southern California. My youngest, Michelle (22) and hubby DJ are both in the Army and stationed at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. I share my house with Silly Sara, an adopted calico... my backdoor neighbors are Tequilla and Kisses, 2 sweet horses, who come running to the fence as soon as they see me :-) Even though I live in the US now since 1989, lived 6 years in Manchester (UK), and lived most of my growing up years in Lanaken, Belgium, I was born in Haarlem (Bomenbuurt), The Netherlands, a beautiful little country... I'm still a Dutch citizen ... en ja, ik spreek nog steeds Nederlands. My hobbies include cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting for newbornsinneed.org, travelling, reading, cooking, web design and pixeling... my favorite artist is Vincent van Gogh.
